Bookings & Discounts.

Bookings can be made at any time. We will try our best to get your dates covered no matter how late you may book. We advise you to book as far out as possible, even into the upcoming year.

Pricing & Services:

  • Overnight Stay: $55* per day

  • Sunrise to Sunset: $25 per hour (Gold + Platinum Collar Club members only)

  • Just Feed 'em: $45 per day. + $15 for each additional stop.

  • Break Time: $20 for 15 min; $30 for 30 min. Can be added to any service.

Price Changes/exceptions:

1.     Prices are 'per day' for daily services: 'overnight stay,‘ 'sunrise to sunset,‘ and 'just feed ‘em'.‘

2.     Price Changes for “Overnight Stay” bookings: If your sitter leaves at or before 6 am on the last day of a booking, or if your sitter arrives at or before 8 pm on the first day of your booking, you will be charged ½ price for that day.

3.     Price Changes for “Overnight Stay” bookings: If your booking is 1-3 days in total, your rate is $60.00 per day; if your booking is 4+ days in total, your rate is $55.00 per day. (*This does not apply to Gold & Platinum Collar Club members; members are charged $55.00 per day, no matter the booking length.)

Discounts & Current Promotions:

  • $5 off each day on overnight & just feed ‘em. | One-time use. Valid until 1 Jun 25.

  • 20% off any service at Palm Prestige Services. | One-time use. Valid until 1 Jun 25.

You must request the use of your discount. Since discounts are one-time use, you must specify the booking you would like to add your discount to. Clients who did not receive a discount coupon in the mail are not eligible to claim the above active discounts. Discounts cannot be combined if applicable. 

Fees & Charges:

All fees listed below apply to all customers. Collar club member-exempt fees are listed in your membership agreement.

1.     Travel fees: travel fees are charged per day for all services. Fees for the listed services are: $3 per day for homes inside of discovery bay; & $8 per day for homes outside of discovery bay. These are the base rates we charge, depending on your exact home location your fee may be lower or higher.

2.     Service extensions: Overtime charges: if you extend your services after they have started (i.e., adding another day you need your pets watched), you will be charged an overtime fee for each day added of $10. 

3.     Holidays: if you use any of our services on a nationally recognized holiday you will be charged $5.

4.     Extra animal charge: Owners with 4+ animals will be charged $5 extra for each animal per day. If you have 1-3 animals, you are exempt.

5.     Booking Cancellation: If you cancel within 5 days of the start of your booking, you will be charged $50.00.

Payment Information.

An invoice will be issued at the beginning of the booked period. Payment is due within three (3) days following the end of the booked period. If payment is not received within this grace period, late fees will be applied to your invoice. In the case of a bounced check, an additional fee of $150.00 will be charged.

We accept the following payment methods: Zelle, check, credit/debit card, or cash. Please note that online payments are subject to a 4% processing fee, which will be charged to the customer. (*Collar Club members are exempt from this fee.)

These policies are designed to ensure the smooth operation of our small, local business. We appreciate your compliance with these guidelines to facilitate seamless transactions. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

The Collar Club Disclosures.

Advertisement Disclosures:

  1. Daily Rates Discounts: By using your rewards points, you may receive up to $13 off per day or more. This discount is not guaranteed.

  2. Fee Exemptions: Members are exempt from all fees except travel fees for clients outside of Discovery Bay.

  3. Booking Assistance: Members have access to our staff to assist in booking dates that may already be reserved. While bookings are not guaranteed, if we cannot secure one for you, you will receive 1 free day on your next booking.

Priority Scheduling:

As a Collar Club Member, you enjoy priority scheduling. This means we will arrange for our staff to cover overlapping dates when booking conflicts arise. However, this service may be unavailable if our employees' schedules prevent coverage. Members cannot request dates already booked by other members. To utilize Priority Scheduling effectively, members must book two weeks in advance. Please note, Priority Scheduling is not guaranteed. If we are unable to accommodate your booking, you will receive one free day on your next booking as compensation.

Membership Subscription:

  • Cancellation: Membership can be canceled at any time.

  • Monthly Plan: If you cancel your Monthly plan, your membership points expire upon cancellation. Your current billing period will be your last, and membership perks will cease immediately. Rejoining later incurs a doubled "New member fee," with no refunds for fees previously paid. If you cancel within 30 days of redeeming points for a discount, that discount will be revoked.

  • Yearly Plan: Cancellation of your Yearly plan results in the expiration of membership points. Your current billing period will be your last, and perks will cease immediately. Rejoining later doubles the "New member fee," with no refunds for fees previously paid. You can also choose to "Not Renew" your membership at the end of each billing cycle/year to avoid the doubled new member fee. Canceling at any time incurs a $100 cancellation fee, with membership points expiring immediately. If you cancel within 5 days of redeeming points for a discount, that discount will be revoked.

Fees:

As a   Collar Club Member, you are exempt from the following fees:

  • Travel Fees: Exempt from travel fees, except for gas charges to homes outside of Discovery Bay.

  • Payment Fees: No payment fees apply when using online payments.

Points:

As a   Collar Club Member, you earn points with each booking:

  • Points accrue automatically after every booking; 1 point per booked day.

  • Points can offset travel fees or be redeemed for free days:

    • 20 points for an "overnight stay" day

    • 10 points for a "sunrise to sunset" day

    • 5 points for a "Just Feed Em" day

  • Points expire annually.

  • Up to 2 free days per month can be claimed using points on the same booking.

  • Points are managed and viewable in your online account.

  • Cannot be redeemed for cash - points do not hold any value.

Discounted Pricing:

As a   Collar Club Member, you benefit from discounted pricing:

  • $50 per day for Overnight Stays

  • $50 per day for Sunrise to Sunset days

  • $40 per day for Just Feed Em days

1. Liability for Damages 

The Service Provider is not responsible for any damages to the Client's home or property during the service period unless it can be conclusively proven that the damages were directly caused by the sitter, in which case the sitter will have to settle the matter with the Client.

 2. Liability for Pets 

The Service Provider is not responsible or liable for any injury, illness, or other incidents that may occur to the Client's pet(s) during the service period. This includes, but is not limited to, veterinary bills, medical expenses, or other associated costs. Unless it can be conclusively proven that the damages were directly caused by the sitter with bad intent, in which case the sitter will have to settle the matter with the Client.

Discovery Bay House & Pet takes no responsibility and does not condone any such ‘bad’ actions mentioned above. Discovery Bay House & Pet and its affiliated company’s do not take any liability for any damages caused by the sitter at any point.

 3. Veterinary Emergencies 

In the event that a pet requires veterinary care during the service period, the Client will be charged a travel fee ranging from $50 to $200 or more, depending on the location and time of the visit. All veterinary expenses are the sole responsibility of the Client.

 4. Prohibition of Gatherings 

Under no circumstances is the sitter permitted to host any form of gathering, party, or event at the Client’s home. Unless otherwise mentioned for any reason in writing by the client, if so Discovery Bay House & Pet and its affiliated company’s do not take any liability for any damages caused by the sitter at any point.

 5. Theft or Loss Claims 

If the Client believes an item has been stolen from their home, they must provide evidence that the item was present before the sitter's arrival and that it was stolen. The Service Provider is not responsible for thefts resulting from break-ins or damages caused by any third parties.

 6. Utilities and Household Use 

The Service Provider will not pay for any utility bills, including but not limited to electricity, water, or garbage. By using the Service Provider’s services, the Client agrees that the sitter is permitted to use utilities and household items necessary for daily life during their stay at a normal rate. If you believe that one of your utility bills is high you need to prove that your sitter was the reason, if so Discovery Bay House & Pet and its affiliated company’s do not take any liability for any damages caused by the sitter at any point.

 7. No Refund Policy 

All payments made to the Service Provider are final. No refunds will be issued under any circumstances. You also agree to the full payment terms listed online at dbhouseandpet.com. You agree to all terms listed online by making a booking request.

 8. Natural Disasters and Emergencies 

The Service Provider is not liable for any damages, injuries, or incidents caused by natural disasters (e.g., earthquakes, floods, fires) that occur while the sitter is in the Client’s home. The Client is responsible for ensuring their homeowner’s insurance policy covers any individuals in the home during such events.

 9. Additional Terms The Service Provider reserves the right to:

            •           Decline service to any client at any time.

            •           Request payment in full prior to the start of services.

            •           Charge additional fees for last-minute bookings or special requirements.

            •           Client agrees to never work with a sitter that previously worked with DBH&P but no longer does, and or use a DBH&P sitter directly i.e. by-passing DBH&P in the booking & payment process. If this occurs DBH&P take absolutely no responsibility for anything that happens in a situation like this. If the client does this they will be banned from any DBH&P services indefinably.

 10. Indemnification 

The Client agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Service Provider and its sitters from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising out of or related to the services provided.
